CAAS (Environmental Services) Ltd. is a planning and environmental consultancy service dedicated entirely to meeting the needs of Public and Local Authorities.

Company History

In 1972 a unit was established within An Foras Forbartha to provide specialist advice to the planning sections of Local Authorities. It was called the Conservation and Amenity Advisory Services (CAAS). Built on ecological resources, the protection and enhancement of landscapes and the fabric of towns and villages, CAAS produced leaflets on topics as diverse as traditional shopfronts, hedgerows and tree planting.

When An Foras Forbartha closed some of its personnel obtained permission to continue the existence of CAAS for the exclusive benefit of the Local Authority Planning Departments. CAAS has grown and continues, 34 years later, to provide a useful range of services to Local Authorities in 2006.
